Zakir Ilahi Chaudhary

Dr. Chaudhary Zakir Ilahi is an accomplished academician with over three decades of teaching experience in Mechanical and Automobile Engineering. Currently serving as Associate Professor at M.H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Mumbai, he has significantly contributed to engineering education through leadership, curriculum development and research. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, along with postgraduate and undergraduate degrees from Aligarh Muslim University.

Dr. Ilahi’s research interests lie in thermal sciences and automotive engineering, with over 20 international publications and active participation in national and international conferences. He played a pivotal role in developing Mumbai University’s first Department of Automobile Engineering, leading it through NBA accreditation for 5 years and developing state-of-the-art laboratories with AICTE support.

An enthusiastic mentor and administrator, he has served on various academic and governance bodies, including the Board of Studies and the Faculty of Technology at the University of Mumbai. His teaching philosophy centers on inspiring curiosity, fostering critical thinking, and bridging academic theory with industry practices. Recognized with numerous awards, including “Distinguished Professor,” Dr. Ilahi remains deeply committed to nurturing future engineers and advancing technical education at institutional, regional, and national levels.
